Joe has successfully competed in various forms of road racing around the world from karting to Formula Ford 1600, Russell Mazda, Formula Ford 2000, British Formula Three, Motorola Cup, Grand Am and, of course, the ALMS. Foster is also the Chief Driving Instructor of the Panoz Racing School, one of the premier road racing schools in the world. At the Panoz Racing School, Joe oversees curriculum design, instructor training and the competition aspects of the quickly growing Panoz GT and Panoz Pro Series race events.
After his British Formula Three season was cut short due to a road accident, Joe moved to the Atlanta area and began educational pursuits in conjunction with physical rehabilitation. He eventually graduated from Georgia Tech at the top of his Mechanical Engineering class and continued on to receive a Masters of Mechanical Engineering with a specialty in composite materials manufacturing.
His technical understanding of race cars combined with his many years behind the wheel make him a critical part of the Multimatic Motorsports Team.
Foster has a Masters degree in mechanical engineering with a specialty in composite materials manufacturing from Georgia Institute of Technology (Georgia Tech). He co-owns Dempsey Racing with actor Patrick Dempsey.
