MULTIMATIC MOTORSPORTS GRABS FRONT ROW STARTING
POSITION AT SEASON OPENER IN DAYTONA

Grabbing Front Row at Daytona

 
DAYTONA, FL (January 29th, 2010) The championship-winningMultimatic Motorsports Ford Mustang Continental Tire Sports Car Challenge squadshowed they will again be a force to be reckoned with on its return to Grand-Amcompetition after locking down a front row starting position today inpreparation for Friday’s Fresh from Florida 200 at Daytona InternationalSpeedway.

The Markham, Ontario-based team claimed the front row starting position withits #15 Mustang Boss 302R as well as a 12th place on the grid with its #16 carat the season opening race.

Joe Foster, who was at the wheel of the #15 Multimatic Motorsports entry,recorded a fast lap of one minute 59.660 seconds (107.103 mph) on his secondlap of the 3.56-mile, 12-turn speedway road course at Daytona.

While his lap time initially placed him first, Foster slid to second - only 24thousandths of a second behind - when the #46 Fall-Line Motorsports BMW car tookover pole position a little over the halfway mark of the session. Although heput in his best lap early in the session, Foster’s time held up throughout the15-minute session placing he and his #15 car co-driver, Multimatic veteran,Scott Maxwell, second on the grid for Round 1 of 10 of the 2010 Grand-AmContinental Tire Challenge season.

The team’s second entry was piloted by 19-year-old Frankie Montecalvo, who ismaking his debut with Multimatic Motorsports. Montecalvo quickly jumped to thetop of the speed charts on his first lap aboard the #16 Mustang Boss 302R butby the time the checkered flag fell, he had been relegated to 12th place. Theup-and-coming driver, who shares driving duties of the #16 car with GunnarJeannette, registered a fast lap of two minutes 1.947 seconds (105.095 mph).

The Multimatic Motorsports team will be back on track at 10:00 a.m. ET Friday,January 29th for a final practice session before the Grand-Am Continental TireSports Car Challenge opening race of the season goes green at 1:45 p.m. ET.

The race will be broadcast on tape-delay on SPEEDTV February 13, 2010 at 7 p.m.ET.
