Ford Bronco™ DR
A turnkey, V8-powered desert racer engineered with Ford Racing for Baja-level endurance.
Overview
Purpose-built for competition, the Bronco™ DR is powered by a third-generation 5.0-litre Ford Coyote V8, targeting 400+ horsepower, and paired with a 10R80 10-speed automatic transmission and a part-time, selectable 4×4 system with permanently locked hubs for maximum durability and traction across extreme terrain.
Its suspension system features Multimatic Positional Selective DSSV™ dampers with 80 mm bodies and finned cooling channels, delivering race-grade control, consistency, and heat management. Suspension travel reaches 400 mm at the front and 443 mm at the rear, figures that underscore the Bronco™ DR’s desert-racing pedigree. A Multimatic-designed billet aluminium lower control arm further enhances strength and precision.
The chassis integrates a Multimatic safety cage with OE ACCRA® tubes, fully FEA-optimised for crash performance, stiffness, and energy management. A rear-mounted radiator and a 65-gallon (246-litre) fuel cell improve weight distribution and high-speed cooling capacity while supporting long-distance endurance racing.
Proving its capability on the global stage, the Bronco™ DR has earned an undefeated class record with wins at the NORRA 1000, Vegas to Reno, and the iconic Baja 1000, cementing its reputation as a modern off-road icon and the ultimate embodiment of Ford’s “Built Wild” philosophy.
For Multimatic, the Bronco™ DR represents the ultimate expression of motorsport-driven engineering, combining advanced suspension technology, structural innovation, and race-proven performance into a machine built for desert racing’s toughest challenges.
