Based on production models from manufacturers such as Ford, Porsche, Ferrari, Lamborghini, McLaren, and Aston Martin, GT3 cars combine real-world road car DNA with cutting-edge motorsport engineering. The category is designed to balance performance across a wide variety of vehicles, creating close, exciting racing between a diverse field of machines, with professional factory drivers competing alongside seasoned privateers.
In IMSA, GT3 cars like the Mustang GT3 compete in the GTD and GTD PRO classes and in WEC they run in the LMGT3 category.
The success of the GT3 category has spread across the globe and now the Mustang GT3 is racing in multiple series, including GT World Challenge Europe, GT World Challenge America, DTM, Nürburgring Endurance Series and ADAC GT Masters, in the hands of our customer teams including Haupt Racing Team (HRT), Proton Competition, Gradient Racing and Dollahite Racing.
